Graviton by Cosmic-Cuttlefish Graviton by Cosmic-Cuttlefish
I didn't use the popular 3D tile ball method to make this one; actually, I created it from scratch, using a Spherical gasket. The orb in the middle was created by using two transforms with z-translate. It took a long time, but it was fun to make. :)

The title speaks for itself, really: I was aiming to create something that looked like a sub-atomic particle.

Made with Apophysis 7X.

You mention a "popular 3D tile ball method"...do you know where I can find it?  I'm fairly new to Apophysis and trying to discover as many techniques as I can...and I'm really terrible at 3D fractals.

In physics, a graviton is the particle responsible for gravity, supposedly - that's what inspired me to make this one. Thank you very much, anyway. :)

Thanks Steve, and sorry for the late reply. I'm really pleased that you like it, although I'm still getting to grips with the 3D variations... So far, I'm pleased with the results I'm getting, but I don't feel like I have as much control as I do with 2D fractals. Still, the best way to learn is to keep practising, I guess. :)

Thanks Jess, I'm pleased that you like it. :) Essentially, there's a script for Apophysis, the fractal program I use, which produces similar results to this image, but by using a different method.

Thanks! It's essentially a fractal pattern that uses two Spherical transforms as a basis. There are lots of possibilities with it, and moving the two triangles changes the tiling pattern of the rest of the fractal. *Fiery-Fire's Spherical Tutorial explains a couple of ways of using the variation. Hopefully that will be helpful. :)
