Fire Opal by Cosmic-Cuttlefish Fire Opal by Cosmic-Cuttlefish
More fun with Spherical and Hypertile. I found it difficult to get the colours to work properly, but got there eventually. I need to learn how to use colour speed at some point... I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out, though.

Made with Apophysis 2.09.

Hm... To be honest, I have a lot of 'real life' commitments at the moment - I'm afraid I wouldn't have time to actively watch someone new right now, as I'm finding it hard enough to keep up with the current people and groups on my list! Thanks for asking, though. Hope you have a good week. :)

Cool work, I've played with Apophysis a few times but sometimes all the numbers and stuff drive me crazy.
I should really be more patient, I think it can make beautiful things like you show us here.

Thank you very much. :) The numbers often confuse me, too, and I've been using the program for a couple of years now. I still have a lot to learn... You're right; it does require patience, but I find Apophysis great fun to use - I'd definitely say it's worth continuing with it.

Good choice of light and colours. A promising spot to explore. Strong 'Martian' tones down from the center remind me of Curiosity. Keep up the good work!

Awesome work..I dont really bother much with the color speed options. If you have many transforms, I rather adjust each triangles color individually, but if there are only 2 or 3 triangles, I adjust the 'frequency' instead.

I find the colorspeed can go your way or another way, and I have more control adjusting them manually :)

Thank you very much. :) I often find it difficult to colour fractals with many transforms. This one had six, which is more than usual for me, so colouring it took a while. It's good to hear that colour speed isn't essential: I find colouring confusing enough as it is, without adding another variation to it. By the way, I am a big fan of your work, especially Watch Your Step - it's one of my all-time favourites.

Thanks! Hypertile is a plugin by *Zueuk. I used it as the final transform in this one to get the overall circular shape. You can find it here - [link] :)

I love the title...I need a fire opal one of these days, :D...(opal is my birthstone.)
What made me...trip over myself to click on it (lol) was the lovely contrast of shadows and light. It is almost like this has a vignette around it or something. The sparkles are a nice touch too.
Anyway...sigh...this really is beautiful, Chris. You are very talented, dear.

Thank you very much Jess; I appreciate your kind words. Getting the lighting and texturing right on this one probably took longer than the shape itself. The colours were an especial pain... It took a while to find a gradient that worked, but it turned out quite well. I'm glad you like it. :)
