Awakening by Cosmic-Cuttlefish Awakening by Cosmic-Cuttlefish
Slowly, as though from a long slumber.

Made with Apophysis 7X.

*u* magical, like a  world tree. But I can also see the awakening in how the pattern is growing and become more complex, like thoughts in the process of awakening :)

Thanks for the comment, and for sharing your impression - I see what you mean. :) My intention behind the title was mostly because I didn't want to go for something obvious, like "Tree", and because I thought it had an end of winter sort of feeling to it, hehe. But I like the idea that it can be seen in a more metaphorical sense, too!

Thanks for the input! It wouldn't be too difficult to re-render at a higher res... I think I was mostly concerned that it would extend off most people's screens if I did, due to its shape. But I guess I can still limit the display size here on deviantART. :) Roughly what sort of resolution would work better, do you think?

Looks like an upside down lighting! Love the deceptive simplicity - it's gorgeous.

Thank you very much! I've been trying not to over-complicate my recent fractals - it's surprising how many interesting shapes you can get with just a couple of transforms. :)

Wonderful!  One time years ago, I made a tree in Apophysis.  I still have the image on another site.  Wish I still had the par for it.
  This is a beautiful, solitary tree on a starlit night.  Wonderful atmosphere!

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! Do you have a link to the fractal tree you mentioned, out of interest? If you like, I could send you the parameters for this one: the shape itself is fairly basic, so it should be easy to adapt.

Yes, I do.  I actually have several tree like images there.  The gallery is only 12 pages of images.  Will give you the link to page 1 in case you want to look through them all.   The 2nd link is the one to where the tree image is, in case you want to go straight to it.

I would be tickled to have the par to work with.  One of the cool things is that just recently I found some of the par files from back when I was at Renderosity in 2005 up to around 2009.  Have been putting them in jwf.
I actually really love Apophysis, but I have tried to run both programs on the same machine and it gives me a headache.  Both programs want to control where the par files are saved at.  Plus some of them show differently in jwf than they do in  Apophysis, for some reason.

I will personal message you an email you can send the par to, and maybe we can exchange some.  I have some that look like mountains, and even one that looks like a fortress and an old castle.

I sent you a note. :) You have a very imaginative and varied selection of pieces, by the way - I enjoyed looking through the gallery!

I am glad you enjoyed looking through it.  I appreciate you taking the time.  Sometimes I will go back and look at art from years ago and it is like, "whoa, that is really good", and it isn't in a conceited kind of way at all, but rather the fact that I was able to do that.  I also very much love to mix quotes with fractals too.
Thanks so much and I will be working on those par files.
